Stéphane, an out-of-work actor, joins his old troupe for a final performance at the Avignon Theatre Festival. There, he meets Fanny, a former intern now starring in a Victor Hugo play. To impress her, he falsely claims to be playing the lead in Corneille’s Le Cid—her favorite play.
