BELLEVILLE BABY
Synopsis
Engberg’s personal account of a raw out-of-the-blue telephone conversation with a long lost lover provides the soundtrack to an ethereal montage of footage from a time long-gone.

Our take
Mia Engberg’s dreamy, poetic, and very personal film builds on the fragments of memories—evoked through photographs, ambient sounds and telephone messages—to tell the intimate story of a past relationship. A raw example of cinematic auto-fiction looking at the recollections and emotions left behind.
