Anthony, Dignan, and Bob are three best friends attempting to escape their suburban boredom through a life of crime. But these bickering, bumbling thieves are no match for the local, more experienced crime boss—who leads them into the biggest heist of their careers.

Wes Anderson’s warm and irreverent indie debut shows off much of what we’ve come to love about his unique, slightly surreal cinematic vision. Co-written by (and starring) Owen Wilson, this idiosyncratic story about a trio of oddballs has a youthful zest for life, and is full of irrepressible charm.
