In his mid 40s, with his music studies completed, Anton Bruckner (Joachim Bauer) is now confronted with the decision he knew he would have to face one day: leave for Vienna and follow his dreams of becoming a composer, or remain in his home town of Linz and settle down to life as a teacher.
