The film is based on the life and work of Charlotte Salomon, a young Jewish painter from Berlin, who took refuge in Nice during the war, and died in Auschwitz. Composed of almost 1000 gouaches and texts, with poetic as well as naïve qualities, this film is a strong and singular work.
