Filmed on black-and-white 16mm reversal in the winter between 1962 and ‘63, Cheers was commissioned by NBC for use in a Harlem Globetrotters half-time show in early 1963. It is one of three films which constitutes J.L. Anderson’s Bluegrass Trilogy.
