Synopsis

After the death of his wife, a corrupt merchant plans to get rid of his daughter-in-law, the heir to the fortune and the luxurious house in which they live. To overcome his plot, the daughter-in-law, a modern and emancipated woman, seeks help from her servant, unaware she is playing on both sides.

Our take

Once considered a lost masterpiece, Mohammad Reza Aslani’s delirious melodrama was found in a thrift shop and miraculously restored. Sensually abounding in sumptuous lace and pearls, this decadent parable on the sickness of wealth erupts into a frenzied vortex of murderous mania and feverish lust.
