Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Boyhood friends, Chuck and Buck, have grown apart as adults. Reunited at Buck’s mother’s funeral, the two discover they couldn’t be more different: Chuck is now a record executive living in LA, while Buck has developed a dangerous fixation—on Chuck’s life.
This squirm-inducing debut from Mike White (The White Lotus) was a breath of fresh air through Sundance, and it’s not hard to see why. A daringly original stalker drama, shot through with jet-black comedy, which still treats its subjects empathetically? Chuck & Buck really bucked the trend.
