Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Sandra, an overworked manager at a fast food restaurant, receives a call from a police officer accusing one of her employees, a young girl named Becky, of stealing from a customer. Sandra, overwhelmed by her managerial responsibilities, complies with the officer’s orders to detain Becky.
Helmed by provocateur Craig Zobel (The Hunt), this controversial film plays like a human experiment. It relentlessly and, at times, sadistically examines irrational impulses to obey authority figures. The documentary-style approach renders this stranger-than-fiction true story chillingly intimate.
