In the post-war years a new boy arrives in 7 / c in a Hungarian village. The viewer is acquainted with him by the drunken teacher, the tutor of the cleric, the lonely singing mistress behind the crepe blossoms, the wise countess, the jovial parson, and the fate of the four little girls.
