19th century America. Accountant William Blake has hardly arrived in the godforsaken frontier town of Machine before he’s caught in the middle of a deadly lovers’ quarrel. Wounded and on the run, Blake finds a friend in the outcast Nobody, who guides him on a spiritual journey.

King-of-cool Jim Jarmusch showed up to Cannes in 1995 with possibly his best film. This self-described “psychedelic western” rebuilds the genre as a ragged, comic, uniquely American trip, with help from an ensemble cast including Johnny Depp and Iggy Pop, and scored to a mystic jam by Neil Young.
