Day after day, Carl Kollhoff stands in the back room of a bookshop, carefully wrapping books before delivering them to his regular customers. On one of his tours he meets 9-year old Schascha who then sticks to him like a limpet. He unwillingly accepts the new companion on his delivery runs.
