Synopsis

Filmmaker William K.L. Dickson plays a violin into a recording cone for an off-camera wax cylinder, while two men dance to the music, in the first known film with live-recorded sound. Made to demonstrate a new Thomas Edison machine, the Kinetophone – a Kinetoscope with wax cylinder phonographs.
