Paul is a teenager when the Paris underground scene is taken over by house music. Soon he has formed the DJ-duo Cheers, while at the same time another group, Daft Punk, becomes famous. He embarks an a lifestyle of sex, drugs and endless beats—until reality finally catches up with him.

Mia Hansen-Løve’s coming-of-age drama is both existential and experiential. Set against the backdrop of French club culture, this generational portrait captures the most fragile of feelings as youthful abandon is quickly marked by the passage of time and its cruel irreversibility.
