In the early years 1900, Dr Bailey met on a train, a young woman on her way to her brother Nick Bederaux and his wife, Alida. Shortly after, he learns that the woman died during her visit. Eager to learn more about this affair, he became acquainted with the Bederaux, thanks to a mutual friend.
