Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
The shooting of a low-budget zombie film doesn’t quite go according to director Rémi’s ideas: the actors are not committed enough and their fear of the zombies is not authentic enough for him. When real zombies suddenly appear, this suits him perfectly fine.
Nothing is what it seems in Michel Hazanavicius’s riotous meta comedy, where a horror-movie crew are terrorized by real zombies—or are they? Bickering their way through the mania of a chaotic set, Bérénice Bejo and Romain Duris are endlessly entertaining in this gleeful ode to low-budget filmmaking.
