Our take
We enter with typewriters and leave with sirens. Activist and veteran filmmaker Helke Sander has never shied from controversy, and she won the short film Golden Bear at Berlin for this eerily detached account of an incident from the fade out of the Cold War. A rarity from the Deutsche Kinemathek!
