Our take

A tender, tragicomic tale of greed and ruin, Hikmet Kerem Özcan’s debut feature unearths the cost of ambition. In this cautionary tale written into sunbaked soil, what begins in quiet, simplicity, and warmth spirals into cold loneliness, as one fortune-seeker digs a hole too deep to escape.
