Our take

One of the most influential independent films, John Carpenter and Debra Hill’s deceptively simple, impeccably crafted tale of suburban innocents versus unsparing evil remains a masterclass in suspense. Forget the sequels, reboots, and imitators: (trick or) treat yourself to the original Halloween.
