Hannu Salama Questioned

Synopsis

The Finnish author Hannu Salama was charged with blasphemy in 1965 because there were passages in “Juhannustanssit/Midsummer Dances” (1964) that offended the religious sentiments of many. This was the largest post-war trial in which questioned an author’s freedom of speech.
