Synopsis

A physician and his wife argue about their decades-long, childless marriage. Madame’s young conquest is soft, pliant, and eager to please, but it’s a newfound secretary, organized, hard-working and, above all, discreet that provides the man of the house with his much-needed secret weapon.

Our take

From eclectic director, playwright, and actor Sacha Guitry comes The New Testament, an elegantly shot comedy that was adapted to the screen from one of the director’s own theater plays. Featuring Guitry’s trademark, beautifully composed long takes, the film is rich in intrigue and light humor.
