Synopsis

In rural Punjab, a schoolboy’s impotence leads to accusations of being gay, triggering relentless bullying. Amid this torment and dark family revelations, he battles inner demons that push him further to the edge. When pressured into an arranged marriage, he’s forced to make a heartbreaking choice.

Our take

Made in a DIY fashion, this Punjabi indie is a testament to the audacious passion of its crew. Backed by Ramnish Chaudhary’s gut-wrenching portrayal of the titular Jaggi, Anmol Sidhu’s remarkable directorial debut boldly confronts toxic masculinity and clichéd Punjabi machismo tropes onscreen.
