Jonathan Richman is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. In 1970 he founded the Modern Lovers, an influential proto-punk band. He recorded with his band a TopPop TV special on 16 September 1978. TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area.
