The turmoil of the last days of WWII. 13-year-old Tom loses his mother while trying to escape. In Vienna, he encounters the one-legged trafficker ‘Krücke’ – a devious, cunning survivalist and at the same time a gorgeous, kind friend. The two find shelter with the Jewish woman Bronka.
