Simon, a classical violinist, finds himself way out of his element when he signs on to teach music to a class of unruly and generally apathetic middle school students on the multicultural outskirts of Paris.

Violins aren’t usually associated with disenfranchised youth, but this touching drama connects the “high art” of classical music with a rowdy class of teenagers. Kad Merad, usually known for his comedy roles, delivers a warming performance as a serious violinist turned inspirational teacher.
