This ‘carnival night comedy’ is set in 1925. For the most part the four acts revolve around the knight Oliver Urban, the industrialist Klanfar, his wife Melita, the academic painter Aurel, and his wife Klara. In this play, Krleža devoted to what we could conventionally call romantic relationships.
