An American blues and rock band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1965, by Alan Wilson and Bob Hite, dedicated blues aficionados and record collectors whose knowledge of the history of the blues. The band’s name, a euphemism for Sterno, was taken from a 1928 blues standard by Tommy Johnson.
