Carol Hammond, a married upper-class woman and daughter of a prominent lawyer, experiences disturbing LSD-induced hallucinations in which she imagines wild orgies hosted by her alluring actress neighbor. When the neighbor is found dead under mysterious circumstances, Carol becomes the prime suspect.

Heightened by psychedelic sequences and a hip Ennio Morricone score, this Swinging London-set giallo takes a dark trip into the unconscious. The underside of the hippy dream unravels in Fulci’s notorious thriller, which landed its producers in the Italian courts for accusations of animal cruelty.
