Synopsis

In the early ’50s, in Mexico City, Rosario Castellano is a precocious intellectual and, soon, one of the biggest writers of Mexican literature. However, her turbulent love story with Ricardo Guerra will show the fragile side of her character and an argument will mark a turning point in her life.

Our take

Poet, writer, and the defiant voice of a new generation of women: Rosario Castellanos transformed Mexican literature and this luminous portrait tells that vital story. Director Natalia Beristain captures the tumult of a love affair and the risks that emerge when confronting the patriarchy.
