Synopsis

Pier Paolo Pasolini travels throughout Italy, from the factories to the beaches, and interviews passersby about their attitudes toward sex. He questions them, mic in hand, on a wide range of topics: the importance of sex in everyday life, prostitution, homosexuality, and the legalization of divorce.

Our take

One of very few documentaries Pasolini ever made, this little-seen gem explores his country’s complex attitudes to sex and love. The Italian radical-atheist auteur covers themes like marriage, homosexuality, and prostitution with subversive curiosity and a typically sparkling sense of humor.
