Just before and during Word War I, the Dutch exotic dancer Margaretha Zelle/Mata Hari has a relationship with the Russian Grand Duke Boris. When she meets the handsome Grigori she drops the Grand Duke, who instantly arrest Grigori and pressure Mata Hari to spy for the Russian side.
