Melancholia is now much more than a celebrated film by Lars von Trier, thanks to Swedish composer Mikael Karlsson, it is also a fabulous opera. Soprano Lauren Snouffer and mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb shine in the roles of Justine and Claire, respectively.
