In 1995, 50 years after their extirpation, wolves were returned to Yellowstone. Mollie Beattie, the first female director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, carried and introduced the first Canadian-born wolf into the park’s experimental acclimation enclosure, forever connecting their lives.
