Synopsis

When Nicolás Avruj went to Israel in 2000, he had no idea where he would end up. On a family vacation, driven by a combination of adventure and curiosity, he crossed into Gaza and the West Bank. With his camera as his only companion, he lived for months in the houses of Palestinians and Israelis.

Our take

The reconstruction of a journey taken 15 years earlier by an Argentinian Jewish filmmaker into Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, Nicolas Avruj’s documentary renounces all pretensions of objectivity. Us, Them and Me explores the consequences of the occupation and extremist ways of thinking.
