Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Randall is a low level criminal recently crippled in an illicit deal gone wrong. Randall, wheelchair-bound in his apartment in Cape Town, is heavily indebted to a loan shark. The gift of a pair of binoculars gives him an opportunity to get the money he so desperately needs, but at great risk.
One would think that only Hitchcock could make the most exhilarating of thrillers with a wheelchair-bound protagonist. But this gritty, riveting South African remake assuredly updates the film’s ethos to a contemporary setting marked by corruption and racial tension: Cape Town’s criminal underworld.
