Hag Ragab is a simple man dreaming that his son Ismail will become a doctor. When Ismail fails to join the medicine school in Egypt, his father gives him money to join in Germany. The son returns from Germany hoping that he can fight the hypocrisy and ignorance among his family and neighbors.
