This film was put together to mark the 25th anniversary of the start of the Russian-Chechen war. It was mostly filmed in Karabulak refugee camp, Ingushetia, with Bentley Dean in January 2000. The Russian military had been carrying out “cleansings” in Chechnya, for four months already.
