Our take

While pasta simmers in the kitchen, romance sparks on the streets in Emanuele Crialese’s charming debut. Starring an Indian and an Italian actor as leading men who navigate the trembling waters of being immigrants in New York, this 1990s romcom sees the metropolis as the melting pot that it is.
