Synopsis

Strolling through the history of Brazilian photography, the film discusses the impact of technological advances on the profession. In an increasingly connected society, where information arises by a quantitative demand, the digitization of the photographer’s craft becomes almost a threat.

Our take

Lauro Escorel, one of Brazil’s most prominent cinematographers, turns his camera on photography itself to explore classical depictions of his country. With enthralling testimonies (his own included), Photografaction is a tender look at both the history of Brazil and the craft since its early days.
