Our take

The Dardennes’ award-winning vérité social drama follows a day-in-the-life of a struggling Belgian teenager and her alcoholic mother with searingly intimate honesty. Rosetta won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival: the Palme d’Or, and Best Actress for Émilie Dequenne’s extraordinary titular role.
