Autumn 1938, Karlovy Vary. Marek Wolski – a young Pole, a member of International Brigades, fighting in Spain – stays in a local health resort, healing from wounds. He lives clandestinely with the tailor Malina. One day, by accident, he finds a ticket to the concert of Jewish violinist Ida Fisher.
