The maid Agnes lives a rather lonely and boring life. So obviously lonely that a market clerk invents an admirer for Agnes, who becomes interested in knowing more about this gentleman. The clerk feels compelled to erase the admirer by hospitalizing him. Agnes decides to visit the gentleman.
