The Birds and the Bees explores the soul seeking adventure of a family moving from Berlin to the countryside looking for the simple life and finding questions and answers on how we define work, love and family nowadays.

Lola Randl’s documentation of her own project of moving to the countryside also acts as a wider reflection on post-capitalist, utopian ideas. From self-sufficient gardening to open relationships, this is a welcome interrogation of contemporary lifestyles, with doses of irony and soap-opera elements.
