Synopsis

The Bus Passengers follows people deceived by housing promises. Kemal, a bus driver, and his neighbors fight a construction company led by deceitful Mahmut, who tries to develop their area. Kemal, in love with Mahmut’s daughter Nevin, strives to uncover the truth and save their neighborhood.

Our take

A searing critique of urban transformation, The Bus Passengers showcases solidarity in small communities through social realism and deep emotion. Penned by Vedat Türkali and starring legendary Yeşilçam actors Ayhan Işık and Türkan Şoray, this ’60s classic underscores class conflict and local unity.
