Colonia Dignidad (“Dignity Colony”) was an isolated colony of Germans and Chileans established in post-World War II Chile by emigrant Nazi Germans which became notorious for the internment, torture, and murder of dissidents during the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet.
