Annikki, a sister of blacksmith Ilmarinen falls in love. This is a sign for Ilmarinen to create Sampo, a magic mill that makes silver, gold, flour and salt. When evil witch Louhi’s initial plan to acquire Sampo is foiled, she retaliates by stealing the sun from the sky.
