On the 21st October 1978 a young pilot Frederick Valentich disappeared over the Bass Strait in mysterious circumstances. His last words to the air traffic controller in Tullamarine before vanishing were; “that strange aircraft is hovering on top of me again. It’s hovering and it’s not an aircraft.”
