A student from Prague enjoys making prank calls. By chance he phones Mr. Kohoutka, a Jewish gentleman who politely talk with the unknown student many times. In 1939 the student is arrested and brought to a Nazi labor camp. Six years later he returns to Prague and calls Mr. Kohoutka.
