She was not a classic beauty, but seductive like no other. Edvard Munch painted her, August Strindberg was consumed with hatred for her. The Norwegian Dagny Juel (1867-1901) is perhaps forgotten or unknown today but in the late 1800s in Berlin she was worshiped by prominent writers and artists.
