Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
A man who loses a very personal part of his body to cancer decides he wants it back in this offbeat black comedy.
Before crossing over into Hollywood, Robert Schwentke made this gruesomely bawdy black comedy, a farce that seem frivolous and silly were it not semi-autobiographical in nature. The result is marvellous: an illness narrative that nonetheless is buoyed by plenty of Schwentke’s insightful humor.
